Please contact Karla Barnette at ProSurance Group at FEGProgram@Prosurancegroup.com or (800) 310-4486 for help.

How soon can I get coverage?

Your application will be reviewed while you are online. After you pay for the policy, your coverage will incept on the date you have chosen. Your coverage inception date cannot precede the date that you complete the application.

What does it cost?

The cost of coverage varies by the coverage option you choose and your revenue. To see the coverage costs, click Home..

What is a New Agent?

New Agents receive a discount in their first year of coverage. You qualify as a New Agent if you received your first license as a life agent in the 12 months prior to the date your coverage in this program incepts. Your cost is not affected by the commission you have produced in the 12 months prior to joining the program if it is less than $250,000.

What ls a general agent?

A general agent is a life insurance agent who has a contract with a life insurance carrier granting him/her the authority and duty to recruit/hire, train, and supervise sub agents on behalf of the carrier. A general agent will receive a commission override on the business produced by his/her sub agents.

Can I cancel my coverage and get a refund?

You can certainly cancel your policy at any time. However, when you cancel the policy you will no longer have coverage for wrongful acts that occurred during the policy period. After you pay for your policy and print your certificate and are prompted to do so, create a user name and password to allow you to return to your account.

What is a claims made policy?

A claims made policy insures you for claims reported to the insurance carrier during the policy period, as long as the wrongful act that led to the claim occurred after your retroactive date. Your retroactive date is the date you first bought and continuously maintained professional liability coverage for the wrongful act. Click Coverage for details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage.

Who is insured under this policy?

You are insured under this policy. The company you own, control, or employs you has vicarious liability coverage. Your non-licensed employees are also insured to a certain extent.  Click Coverage for details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage.

Is my company insured?

The company that you own or control or that employs you is insured for its vicarious liability arising out of your wrongful acts. It is not insured for claims arising out of wrongful acts of other professionals, other than those also insured in this program. Click Coverage for details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage.

Are my employees insured?

Your non-licensed employees are covered while acting as your assistant in connection with products and services for which you are insured under this policy. Click Coverage for details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage.

What limits are available?

Each insured life agent will have $1,000,000 to pay for defense and any indemnity for which they are liable. There is a $5,000,000 policy aggregate to pay for all claims, which can be raised as the number of life agents insured in the program grows. Click Coverage for more details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage.

What are the policy deductibles?

A deductible, also known as a retention, is the amount that you will pay before the insurance company starts paying. The amount varies by the products involved in the claim. If only FEG Insurance Services products are involved, the deductible is $500. If other fixed insurance products are mentioned in the claim, it is $2,500.  If annuities are part of the claim, it is $5,000.  Click Policy Info for more details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage.

Am I insured for the sale of insurance through insurance companies and IMOs other than FEG Insurance Services?

Yes. You are insured as a life insurance agent representing all of your carriers. Coverage isn’t limited to FEG Insurance Services products. Click Policy Info for more details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage.

What products and services are covered?

Two coverage options are offered:
Option 1 covers you for claims arising out of the sale or service of fixed insurance products including, but not limited to life, accident and health, and disability insurance. Under option 1 there is no coverage for fixed annuities.

Option 2 adds fixed annuities to the coverage.

Click Policy Info for more details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage. Neither Options 1 nor 2 insures you for the sale of variable products, mutual funds, or other securities. If you sell securities, ProSurance Group can obtain coverage for you from other sources. Please contact Karla Barnette at ProSurance Group at FEGProgram@Prosurancegroup.com or
(800) 310-4486.

Am I insured for the sale of life, health and disability insurance?

Yes. Under Options 1 and 2, such coverage is provided. Click Policy Info for more details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage. You are insured for the sale of indexed products, but not variable products.

Am I insured for the sale of annuities?

Annuity coverage is provided under coverage Option 2. However, it is limited to fixed and indexed annuities.  You are not insured for the sale of variable annuities. Click Policy Info for more details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage.

Am I insured for the sale of variable products, mutual funds or other securities?

No.  Coverage is limited to fixed products. If you do sell securities, ProSurance Group can obtain coverage for you from other sources. Please contact Karla Barnette at ProSurance Group at FEGProgram@Prosurancegroup.com or (800) 310-4486.

Am I insured for the sale of property and casualty insurance?

No. However, if you are also licensed as a P&C agent, ProSurance Group may be able to obtain coverage for you. Please contact Karla Barnette at ProSurance Group at FEGProgram@Prosurancegroup.com or         (800) 310-4486 for help.

Am I insured as a FEG general agent?

Although you perform some of the duties of a general agent for FEG and its insurance carriers, you are not technically a general agent, as you have no contract as such with FEG or its carriers. Nor do you have any legal duty to supervise the FEG agents on your team. Hence, you do not need insurance as a general agent. However, this program does insure you as FEG "managers" for claims arising out of recruiting and training the agents on your team. Furthermore you are insured for your vicarious liability arising out of wrongful acts of the agents on your team. In other words, you will be insured for claims alleging that you are responsible for your subagent's wrongful acts simply due to your relationship with your sub agents.

Am I insured as a general agent of insurance companies independent of FEG?

If you have a contract as a general agent (see definition above under question "What is a general agent") with an insurance company independent of FEG, please contact Karla Barnette kbarnette@one80.com at ProSurance Group (800-310-4486) for assistance in obtaining the needed coverage. This program does not provide coverage for acts as a general agent, arising out of the wrongful acts of your subagents, for carriers not associated with FEG. However if you have a general agent contract, claims arising out of your own personal sales under this contract will be insured.

Do I have prior acts coverage?  Does this policy insure me for my wrongful acts prior to its inception?

Yes. Your retroactive date determines how far back your coverage extends. This policy sets your retroactive date as the first date of continuously maintained professional liability coverage for the wrongful act leading to the claim. Hence, any claim arising out of an otherwise covered wrongful act, which occurred after the retroactive date will be insured. Click Policy Info for more details and an example of the policy for the precise definition of this coverage.

Am I covered for recommending other agents to FEG Insurance Services or their carriers?

Yes. If you refer agents to FEG Insurance Services or their insurance carriers and are named in an otherwise covered claim for this referral, the insurance policy will cover you.

Am I insured for training the agents on my team?

Yes. If a claim against you alleges that your training of one of your team members is inadequate, you will be insured.

Am I insured if I am named in a claim against one of the agents on my team?

You are insured for your vicarious liability arising out of wrongful acts of the agents on your team. In other words, you will be insured for claims alleging that you are responsible for your subagent's wrongful acts simply due to your relationship with your sub agents. Your agents must also have professional liability coverage for you to have this coverage.

Am I insured as a third-party administrator?

No. However, if you provide such services, ProSurance Group may be able to obtain converge for you. Please contact Karla Barnette at ProSurance Group at FEGProgram@Prosurancegroup.com or (800) 310-4486 for help.

When does my coverage become effective?

If any answers to the questions on the application change during that period, you must notify ProSurance Group of the change. Contact Karla Barnette at ProSurance Group at FEGProgram@Prosurancegroup.com or (800) 310-4486.
